At first KSI believes people didn't understand his Misfits Boxing's X Series.
But entering this weekend's X Series 017 main event pitting Danny Aarons vs. Danny Simpson, the YouTuber/boxer believes that perception has changed.
"Over the years, we've kind of showed why Misfits deserves to be in the world of boxing," KSI said during a live chat posted on the DAZN X Series' YouTube page Thursday.
"It's in its own lane. Its got people from different areas, people that wouldn't normally box are boxing. It's a way to sort out feuds who aren't in the boxing realm, people who are just fans of boxing and want to get involved either way. It's just a great way for people to just be entertained."
KSI believes viewers will be entertained with Aarons vs. Simpson, while also explaining the endless scrutiny and trolling that awaits the loser of the clash between the streamer and former Premier League football player, respectively.
"There's a lot on the line for the both of them," KSI said. "Danny Simpson's footballing heritage is on the line just from this fight. And online, if he loses, it's going to be carnage for him. Everywhere he goes, he's going to be seen as the guy that got beat up or lost to Danny Aarons or even knocked out."
And a defeat might be worse for Aarons according to KSI.
"But then, if Danny Aarons lost, oh my God," he continued. "He would not hear the end of it, man. Every tweet he tweets, he will constantly have him losing underneath every tweet he posts, just saying, laughing at him and making fun of him. Even when he's streaming, people are going to be in the comments just going at him.
"So there's a lot on the line for both of them and for me, that's just going to be an amazing fight and I can't wait."
As for his own return to the ring, KSI says he's targeting the first quarter of 2025 and is hopeful his hand will be 100 percent by then.
