Legendary promoter unsure whether Gervonta Davis wants huge fight with his man

Legendary promoter unsure whether Gervonta Davis wants huge fight with his manDAZN
Tank Davis' next move is still unknown.

It’s still unclear whether Shakur Stevenson was serious about his retirement announcement last month, but Bob Arum, his promoter, is still moving forward with plans for the Newark fighter.

Stevenson, a current world champion at 135lbs is linked to a number of high-profile fights, and he caused a small shock earlier this year when he stated his intentions to walk away from boxing.

One of boxing’s best fighters, Stevenson is still only 26 and had many more great nights ahead of him despite already being a three-weight world champion.

One fight Arum wants to make for Stevenson is a bout with Gervonta Davis, but he’s uncertain whether the Baltimore man wants it to happen.

“As far as Shakur is concerned, he wants to do that fight, and it’s not [Al] Haymon or anybody,” said Arum when speaking to Fight Hub TV.

“It’s Gervonta Davis that has to want to do that fight.”
