There is a huge all-British world title fight on Saturday.

Former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch is expecting to see a thrilling contest on Saturday night when WBA world featherweight champion Leigh Wood defends his title against Josh Warrington.

The pair go head-to-head in Sheffield on Saturday night, live on DAZN, and with both men having track records for being involved in hard-hitting affairs, this weekend's fight could be a potential fight of the year contender.

There is plenty at stake for both men. For the winner, it's a chance to prolong their boxing careers and finally get the big pay days which have been long desired, while the loser could find it difficult to get back to the top of the featherweight ladder and possibly could call time on their boxing career.

Froch is no stranger to all-British grudge matches, his two memorable encounters with George Groves put British boxing on the map, and now he is expecting Wood to have his hand raised come this weekend after claiming that Warrington is past his best.

"Leigh Wood has got the skills and the ability to beat Josh Warrington, I think Warrington is past his best," Froch told Best Gambling Sites

"He's not fought for ages. He’s been a great fighter - had a heart of the lion and I never thought he’d beat Frampton, and he proved me wrong, he was strong, tough and fit - but maybe that side of him is going now he’s getting older and is inactive.

"But regardless of the inactivity or getting old, I still think Wood would always give him a really tough fight and make it hard from a him and nick it on points, but I just think because of the timing of it, and where Wood is in his career, coming back against Lara, he's on the crest of a wave and he's motivated. He's got more desire.

"I think he’ll do a really good job of beating Warrington on points, it will be a landslide point victory if he gets the tactics right, which I'm sure he will with Ben Davison. I’m really proud of him and I've crowned him the new sheriff for Nottingham, he’s taken my spot.”
