Leigh Wood said he was "done now" with the featherweight division as he celebrated a win over Josh Warrington.
Wood was able to pull off another dramatic stoppage after he was trailing Warrington on the scorecards last night.
The 35-year-old could now move up to super featherweight in pursuit of higher profile fights, but the WBA featherweight champion might yet be tempted if unification fights are on the cards.
The seventh-round stoppage demonstrated, once again, that Wood is able to bring fights to a close if he is given the chance, even when he looks out of the running.
Speaking to the BBC, he said he was “done” with his current division, and then explained his winning mentality.
"I fight until the end, I've not got a quit in me. I knew he'd get sloppy at times and I made him pay," he said.
"I had to give rounds away, he's a great champion and he doesn't quit. I had to dig in and dig deep and I did, but I knew my power would get to him.
"It's about staying calm and composed. I got the job done."
