Lennox Lewis tells leading heavyweight contender to find a new trainer

Lennox Lewis has provided some advice to one fighter.

Lennox Lewis has urged Deontay Wilder to find a trainer who can make get even more from the incredible power that he possesses.

Wilder turned in the worst performance of his career last month as he was comprehensively outclassed by Joseph Parker before having the result confirmed by the ringside judges.

The performance has received severe scrutiny and a potential fight with Anthony Joshua is now off the table.

Lewis, a former world heavyweight champion who avenged two losses, still keeps up to date with the current scene and although disappointed by Wilder’s effort, he believes the American should be doing more in the ring.

“Get with someone who can make those powerful punches even more lethal by working on other stuff like a great uppercut, a great hook,” said Lewis when speaking to The Ring

“Surprise them, they’re looking for the right hand, hit them with an uppercut, a hook.

“I don’t think he was totally serious with that fight because you can look at the punch stats, and they’re not close to the Fury fight.

“This is a lesser man because his weight is not there, his punch count is not up to par, undoubtedly he didn’t take the fight that seriously.”
