Lewis Ritson and Robbie Davies Jr. will settle their feud when they square off in super lightweight action on Saturday, Oct., 19 at Utilita Arena in Ritson's hometown of Newcastle, England.
The rivalry between Ritson and Davies began when they competed on the same card at the beginning of August, when Ritson scored a third-round TKO over Marek Jedrzejewski. After the win, Ritson made it clear that he wanted Davies inside the ring for his next fight.
"He's been running his mouth on social media, " Ritson said in his post-fight interview. "I'm not about that. If he wants it next, he can get it. It's a 50-50 fight, but I'll smash him."
Davies finished Michal Dufek in the same manner, and let the British fans know he wanted to settle the score.
"Ritson, where are you?" Davies said in his post-fight interview.
After losing his undefeated record in an upset loss to Francesco Patera back in October of last year, Ritson (19-1, 12 KOs) has back-to-back wins against German Argentino Benitez and Jedrzejewski.
Davies (19-1, 13 KOs) avenged his sole loss to Michal Syrowatka in July 2015 by notching a ninth-round TKO in their subsequent rematch in March 2018 and then getting follow-up wins over Glenn Foot, Joe Hughes and Dufek.
A Davies victory would mean he could be in line for a significant fight — he's ranked in the top 10 by the IBF and WBA in the super lightweight division. For Ritson, beating Davies should put him in the conversation of cracking the rankings.
