Michel Rivera has thrown his hat in the ring to face Ryan Garcia.
The 25-year-old defeated Devin Haney a couple of weeks ago in a huge upset, but there is no obvious date for his return just yet.
Garcia was convincing in the ring against Haney, though he came in over the 140lb weight, meaning Haney has retained his WBC belt.
When he does get back in the ring, Rivera - the IBF–USBA lightweight champion - wants a shot.
“Bill Haney kept talking about Garcia but what he forgot is that his son doesn’t have a chin,” he said, reported BoxingScene.com.
He said: “I am better than Ryan in every category. You name a category and I’m superior. I would beat him up over 12 rounds and win an easy decision. Let’s see if Garcia accepts my challenge.”
