Is there still a chance the megafight comes to fruition?

Shockwaves were sent through the boxing world on Tuesday when Errol Spence Jr. had to bow out of his Aug. 21 bout with Manny Pacquiao because of a retinal tear in his left eye.

However, not all was lost, as Pacquiao remains on the card and will battle WBA (super) welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

What if Pacquiao does beat Ugas to reclaim the WBA belt. Does he still face Spence? Would he go in a different direction, or just head into retirement and focus on becoming President of the Phillippines?

"Let's say Manny gets past Ugas, and then maybe we get a fight with Manny Pacquiao vs. Terrence Crawford should (Crawford) gets past Shawn Porter while Spence is recovering," DAZN host Ak said on Wednesday's The DAZN Boxing Show. Maybe we get a Manny-Crawford showdown, and Errol sitting and waiting gets the winner of that fight, which will make it even more of a massive fight if it goes down like that. I'm just saying a lot can happen in the welterweight division when Errol is recovering."

A Pacquiao-Crawford is something that has been discussed for several years but has yet to occur. Ak's partner on the show vehemently disagreed with his assessment of what could happen next if Spence is going to be out for awhile.

"I don't think Errol is gonna be out that long," fellow personality Barak countered. "Hopefully not. I'm hoping he really gets better, gets back in there, and starts sparring. Look at it this way, he didn't feel anything. He came ready. He was s posting on Instagram on a private jet on the way to Vegas. So come on, I think he's going to be okay. Now, the only thing that I think that this shows us is the question before this fight was is Manny Pacquiao going to retire after this fight, win or lose? Or is he going to continue to fight? Now we can almost be sure and say he's going to continue to fight only because I don't think if he beats Ugas, that would be enough to him because you want to fight the best guy in Errol Spence?"
