Manny Pacquiao delivered many masterful performances in the boxing ring in a career that saw him capture world title glory in eight divisions.
The Filipino sensation, now retired but often linked to comeback fights, took on many of boxing’s biggest names, but which fighter had the best defence?
On his climb through weight classes, Pacquiao’s incredible power was sometimes enough to get him through hard tasks, but his skills also helped him when he was not able to get the job done early.
Pacquiao produced many memorable stoppages against the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto, but he credits Joshua Clottey as being the most defensive boxer he came across when Pacquiao outpointed him in 2010.
“Joshua Clottey,” answered Pacquiao when asked by The Ring in 2015 what fighter had the best defence.
“And not for a good reason, at least for the fans.”
