Andy Lee predicted that Manny Pacquiao will beat Errol Spence Jr. to cement his legacy as one of the best fighters of all time.
Pacquiao is out of semi-retirement to face the IBF and WBC welter champion in August, and few observers have been willing to write off the Filipino senator despite the fact he is 11 years older than the American.
Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, Lee appeared to be giving Spence the fight, saying: “I give Spence the edge because of the natural size and the youth.
“You just can't write off Pacquiao. People said the same both time and as a more methodical guy, very steady. Manny is very strong. Pacquiao is obviously explosive and fast and has a bouncing rhythm. It could be a classic, could be a war.”
However when he reached his conclusion, he changed his mind.
“I don't want to go against Pacquiao. So I'm gonna Pacquiao, and one of the greatest submits his legacy as one as one of the greatest of all time.”
