Martin Bakole has claimed that American rival Michael Hunter is not ready for a rematch.
Bakole sent a statement to the rest of the division in Los Angeles last weekend when he knocked out Jared Anderson in the fifth round of their contest on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov.
With such an impressive performance, Bakole is hoping this can now secure him the big fights he craves, but one name which gets frequently mentioned is Michael Hunter.
Bakole and Hunter have previously shared the ring together six years ago with the latter inflicting the first defeat of Bakole's career.
But is Bakole interested in getting revenge over the American?
"Not now, [I wouldn’t rematch Michael Hunter], it’s not the fight that I am looking for right now but if it happens, I am ready to face Michael Hunter, but he is not ready," Bakole told BoxNation.
"We will always say yes to the fight and he will say ‘no, I am not ready’ but in social media he is always talking.”
