Martin Bakole is currently one of the hottest names in an exciting heavyweight division.
Bakole's fifth round knockout win over Jared Anderson sent a statement to his rivals which now puts him in a strong position to face some marquee names.
Possible meetings with the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are not in Bakole's immediate plans, but he is instead looking at those in the level just below those at the top table for his next fight, and one possible opponent is a former world champion at heavyweight.
“For right now, [I want] people on my level – people I’m allowed to fight, because I’m number six now in the top 10," Bakole told BoxingScene.
“I would like to fight someone from seven, eight, nine, 10. I’ll mention Zhang – that’d be a good fight. I want to stop that man.
“I’ll mention Kabayel – that is a big fight. Good fight.
“I would say Joseph Parker – that’s a good fight. That’s three names.”
