Michael Conlan believes his next fight will be for a world championship.
Conlan is coming off the back of a win this weekend against TJ Donehy for the WBA interim world featherweight title, but his last fight saw him land the WBO international super bantamweight belt.
Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, the 29-year-old Irishman explained that he would consider fights at either weight, as long as he could fight for a full belt.
“My next fight will be for a world title, no doubt in my mind,” he said.
“Whether it's for the WBA 126 interim championship, but whether it's for that, or I'm still mandatory for the WBO, 122 title. So I have options. I can fluctuate between weights with no problem. And it is interesting. I'll wait and see what's going on and start to make decisions very soon.
“I've been applying pressure for a long time. And I think now I'm in the position. Positioned very, very nicely in both divisions. So now it's just a matter of which one comes first.”
