Mike Tyson’s lengthy career took him through a number of different heavyweight eras where he shared the ring with the likes of Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, and Lennox Lewis.
A former heavyweight champion, Tyson’s reputations as one of boxing’s most feared competitors saw him destroy many of his rivals, but who was the hardest puncher the New Yorker faced?
In 1996 and the following year, Tyson took part in a memorable series with Evander Holyfield where he suffered a shocking loss in their first battle before being disqualified in the rematch.
Tyson credits Holyfield as being the most powerful opponent he stepped in the ring with.
“Holyfield. He threw terrific shots with both hands and with bad intentions,” said Tyson when speaking with The Ring in 2014.
