'Nothing nice!' - Mike Tyson shoots down softer suggestions ahead of Jake Paul bout

'Nothing nice!' - Mike Tyson shoots down softer suggestions ahead of Jake Paul boutDAZN
The Baddest Man on the Planet is back against The Problem Child in a fascinating contest this coming Friday.

Mike Tyson insists there is "nothing nice" about him as he prepares to end his near-two-decade exodus from professional boxing against Jake Paul this week in Dallas, Texas .

The Baddest Man on the Planet will step into the ring for a competitive bout for the first time since 2005 when he faces the YouTuber-turned-fighter on Friday at AT&T Stadium.

Since he hung up his gloves, Tyson has broadened his public profile, with varied advertisements and cameos, including a famous one in  The Hangover , softening his image.

But speaking ahead of his clash with Paul, more than three decades his junior, in a blockbuster fight, the 58-year-old has played down any suggestion he has lost his edge.

"There's nothing nice about me," he told  The Telegraph . "I'm not a nice person. I'm a decent person in that I try to do the right thing, but a nice person I am not.

"Anybody coming in under the impression that I'm nice is going to be disappointed. I don't make people happy just for no reason. I'm just who I am.

"I'm not trying to gain friends, that's basically what I'm saying. I don't want to make friends with you. I'm never going to be nice to anybody. I'll be kind, but never nice."

Tyson previously retired before the seventh round of his final fight, a loss to journeyman Kevin McBride, seemingly bringing down the curtain on a successful, but controversial career.

His return against Paul raised eyebrows when announced and has already been postponed from its original July date after he suffered an ulcer flare-up in the build-up.
