'Ten percent!' - Mike Tyson outlines bold expectations before Jake Paul encounter

'Ten percent!' - Mike Tyson outlines bold expectations before Jake Paul encounterDAZN
The Baddest Man on the Planet claims he will not even need to go through the gears to make short work of his rival.

Mike Tyson says he will only need to "fight at ten percent" to defeat Jake Paul when the two meet, while also sidestepping Eddie Hearn's comments on the pair's bout.

The Baddest Man on the Planet and The Problem Child go h ead-to-head at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on Friday night in one of the most fascinating match-ups of the year.

The 58-year-old Tyson will end a near-two-decade exodus from professional boxing to meet 27-year-old Paul, who made the leap to the ring from his start as a social media star.

But speaking ahead of their bout, the veteran heavyweight pointed to his foe's lack of experience as being the difference maker for when the two step into the ring.

"Regardless of how old I am, this guy only has [fought in just over] ten fights," he told  The Telegraph . "If I only fight at ten percent, he can't match that, and that's being sincere."

Paul holds a 10-1 professional record, mostly against a number of other YouTubers-turned-fighters and sports figures from other disciplines such as mixed martial arts.

His lone career loss came in a clash with Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, in February last year in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Matchroom boss Hearn has blasted the event as a "disgrace", which will also see Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano contest their highly anticipated rematch.

Asked for his thoughts on the promoter's comments, Tyson offered a diplomatic if telling answer, adding: "That's Eddie's opinion. That's all I can say."
