At 20-years-old, Ashton "H20" Sylve continues to impress and grow as a boxer.
The Most Valuable Prospects V main card from Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, and live on DAZN, had Sylve showing improved head movement and a crisper, more fluid jab with commitment to the weapon against a rugged Estivan Falcao in the lightweight main event.
But perhaps more than anything, Sylve showed a hunger and willingness to want to end the fight with fireworks.
Despite leading comfortably on the cards in a near shutout, Sylve kept his foot on the gas pedal and uncorked a right-left combination to drop Falcao in the 10th and final round. The knockdown highlighted a lopsided unanimous decision win as judges scored it 99-90, 99-90 and 100-89 all in his favor.
Sylve improved to 11-0 (9 KOs) with the victory, despite having hurt his right hand in camp as his dad confirmed on DAZN.
"I definitely wish I would have got the second round knockout but everything happens for a reason," Sylve told DAZN. "I appreciate I went 10 rounds and see what I could do in 10."
The card also had Julian "The Quiet Storm" Smith pulling off a massive upset of Orestes Velazquez in the co-main event as he dropped Velazquez in the opening round, once in the eighth and two more times in the ninth before the referee brought the bout to a halt prior to the 10th round. Smith notched the victory despite being a 10-1 underdog.
Smith, who is deaf, provided inspiring words to the deaf community following his big win.
