The Ukrainian was speaking at Vasyl Lomachenko's lightweight clash in New York.

Oleksandr Usyk would prefer to go straight to an undisputed title fight with Tyson Fury, and predicts he would beat the WBC champion.

At fellow Ukrainian fighter Vasyl Lomachenko’s lightweight clash with Richard Commey in New York, he spoke to Fight Hype about the prospects ahead of him in 2022.

Asked what his opinion was of the outcome of a potential fight with Fury for all four heavyweight belts, he said through a translator that, “I will beat him nicely.”

He was not sure who his next opinion would be, given Dillian Whyte has a mandatory fight with Fury expected in early 2022, saying: “It all depends. It’s not up to [me] at this point.”

The heavyweight champion was asked whether he would prefer to fight Anthony Joshua - who has recently entertained talk of step-aside money for their planned rematch - or fight Fury next, he was clear.

“Of course - it’s one step less [to skip the rematch],” he explained.
