The heavyweight defeated Joe Joyce on Saturday night.

Zhilei Zhang is targeting a fight with Tyson Fury next after beating Joe Joyce.

The Chinese veteran won his rematch against 38-year-old British heavyweight Joyce on Saturday night at Wembley Arena.

He delivered a brutal third-round knockout to secure the WBO Interim championship, which could eventually lead him to a mandatory challenge up against current champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

That is anticipated to happen at some point in 2024, according to promoter Frank Warren, but Zhang appears to have another champion in mind.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the fight, Zhang paid tribute to his beaten opponent.

He said: “I’m happy, I’m happy. Like I said before the fight, it’s going to end sooner than the first fight. I did it.

“Joe, hell of a fighter. I like him, I respect him. I let everyone witness Chinese power again.

“This is what we’re here for, we’re professional fighters. We came here to entertain the crowd, we’re performers.”

Asked about his next fight, he instead picked Fury as his preferred target.

Speaking to the crowd, he asked: “I want to ask the audience a question: Do you want to see me shut Tyson Fury up?”
