Unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is not impressed by Frank Warren's prediction for his upcoming fight against Daniel Dubois.
The pair will go head-to-head for Usyk's IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight titles on August 26 in Poland, and Warren, who promotes Dubois, is confident that his man can produce a huge upset and knockout the Ukrainian.
However, three of Usyk's four wins at heavyweight have come against British opposition and there is no doubt he is confident of adding another to his record.
But when asked by TNT Sport about Warren's prediction, Usyk believes it is the sign of someone who does not believe their fighter can get the job done.
"Frank Warren is a talented man, and he’s distinguished himself as a prominent promoter. So he has to talk and speak with confidence, otherwise people will start hesitating,” Usyk said.
“But no, I don’t believe him.”
While an Usyk win may not see three more heavyweight titles arrive on British shores, fans will then want to see the undisputed fight with WBC title holder Tyson Fury next. But when or if it happens is unknown with Fury set to face former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in October.
