There is a new date and location for Oleksandr Usyk's heavyweight debut: Oct. 12 in Chicago's Wintrust Arena.
Usyk's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, announced the rescheduled bout Thursday on Instagram. He said more details would come out next week.
Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs) was poised to move up from cruiserweight in May but had to withdraw from his fight vs. Carlos Takam because of a biceps injury.
The Ukraine fighter became the unified cruiserweight championship in July 2018 when he defeated Murat Gassiev in the final of the inaugural World Boxing Super Series. He defended his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF belts in November 2018 with a TKO of Tony Bellew.
Usyk then relinquished his titles to jump into the top weight class.
