Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua rematch 'all agreed' says Eddie HearnMatchroom Boxing
A rematch has been expected since the turn of the year and only a few details need to be ironed out.

Eddie Hearn has stated that Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk has been ‘all agreed.’

The pair fought last September in North London when the Ukrainian pulled off an impressive win in a huge upset, claiming the IBO, IBF, WBA and WBC heavyweight belts.

Joshua then exercised his rematch clause, with a second fight expected in spring 2022, but after rumours of a step-aside deal to allow Usyk to go straight to a fight with WBC champion Tyson Fury, and then the Russian invasion of Ukraine causing Usyk to return to his home country, the fight was indefinitely delayed.

However, Fury fights mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte this Saturday, and Usyk has now left Ukraine to prepare for a rematch with the blessing of the Ukrainian government.

Hearn believes that a date and venue will soon be agreed, which are the only remaining details ahead of letting the pair fight again.

“The fight’s all done, it’s all agreed,” Hearn told talkSPORT.

“It’s 100 per cent Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk the rematch.

“We’re finalising the location at the moment, his team are in London this week so we’re gonna sit down with them.

“I think in two weeks time we’ll finalise the date. It will be July.

“And hopefully AJ can become a three-time heavyweight world champion."
