Shannon Briggs knows the business end of the heavyweight division as well as anyone thanks to his world title reign.
A tough fighter who often delivered in big fights, Briggs is still a huge follower of the sport he succeeded in after walking away from boxing in 2016.
The popular New Yorker often delivers opinions on huge fights, and he’s now provided his verdict on Tyson Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk will look to make it two wins from two against his great rival on December 21, live on DAZN, after defeating the Englishman earlier this year.
With all four heavyweight belts up for grabs this past May, Usyk produced a brilliant second half performance to win via split decision.
Fury has activated his right to secure an immediate rematch and that takes place later this month. Briggs is the latest high profile boxing figure to speak about the contest.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be a tough fight,” said Briggs when speaking to Boxing Social.
“I think that [Fury’s] gonna be better prepared for this fight than he was in the first fight. If he wins there will be a third, but it’s gone be a good fight. I’m looking forward to it.”
