Riddick Bowe is backing Oleksandr Usyk to retain his heavyweight titles when he clashes with Tyson Fury for a second time at the end of the year.
The American star is fully aware of what it takes to the reach the top in boxing following a remarkable career that saw him enjoy success as both an amateur and professional fighter.
Bowe was a silver medalist at the 1988 Olympics where he lost to Lennox Lewis before embarking on an incredible run that saw him reach the top of the heavyweight division.
Famed for his incredible trilogy with Evander Holyfield, a rivalry he edged, Bowe has seen it all as a fighter.
On December 21, Fury and Usyk will collide for a second time following a terrific battle back in May when Usyk won via split decision.
The talented Ukrainian took over the fight in the second half and he enjoyed a stunning round nine when he forced Fury to take a standing count.
With Fury entitled to an immediate rematch, the pair have agreed to partake in a sequel and it’s an opportunity for the British fighter to level the series.
It’s a contest where Fury begins a slight underdog, but Bowe has given Usyk his approval when deciding who will win the fight.
“Not Fury. I don’t think he have it no more,” said Bowe when discussing who would emerge victorious with Pro Boxing Fans .
“He don’t have it like he used to. Time changed, he can’t take a punch like he used to. Even like myself, there was a time where I was tired of doing it and I didn’t want to get hit no more.”
