Oscar De La Hoya has offered $5m to any fighter who has five world title fights in a year.
The boss of Golden Boy Promotions, one of boxing’s most recognisable names, was one of the sport’s most courageous fighters as he took on a host of incredible names on his way to becoming a world champion in six different weight classes.
In a remarkable career, De La Hoya was always seeeking the hardest challenges and he shared the ring with legendary names such as Julio Cesar Chavez, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao.
With the leading fighters competing less frequently now, De La Hoya is eager to see them become busy again and has taken to social media with his latest incentive.
They will never ever make 90s fighters the same,” wrote De La Hoya on X
“I will personal[ly] give a championship fighter 5 million dollars to fight 5 world title fights in 1 year.”
Will any fighter take up De La Hoya’s offer?
