Oscar De La Hoya is confident that Terence Crawford and Vergil Ortiz can get in the ring together in 2025.
The legendary fighter, now one of boxing’s biggest promoters, has guided Ortiz to a prosperous position so far and a contest against Crawford could be one of the biggest fights in boxing.
Ortiz fights this weekend, live on DAZN, when he headlines in Las Vegas against Ukraine’s Serhii Bohachuk.
Victory will see the unbeaten Texan become a major player at 154lbs and that could open the door for a showdown with Crawford.
“I think that Crawford vs. Vergil Ortiz, next year, first quarter will be a super fight,” said De La Hoya when speaking to BoxingScene at a press conference.
The stakes couldn't be higher for Ortiz as he looks to maintain his impressive stoppage streak against Bohachuk.
