American super welterweight Charles Conwell has received significant praise from his promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
Conwell was in action on the undercard of Saturday night's fight between Serhii Bohachuk and Vergil Ortiz Jr.
The 26-year-old sent a statement to the rest of the division against Khiary Gray who was on the wrong end of a second round knockout from Conwell.
While this may be Conwell's second fight under the Golden Boy promotional banner after signing with the company earlier this year, De La Hoya is eager to get Conwell challenging for major honours sooner rather than later.
"Charles Conwell was incredible," De La Hoya told BoxingScene.
"He's now ready for a world title, and we're going after it."
