Paddy Donovan believes that he will make short work of Lewis Crocker when the fighters meet on March 1 in a final eliminator for IBF welterweight title, live worldwide on DAZN.
Both men are undefeated, with the winner of the bout to be named the mandatory challenger for IBF champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis.
For Donovan, the upcoming bout against Crocker is little more than a formailty as he predicted an explosive end to their clash.
“I knock Lewis Crocker out," Donovan said at the launch press conference for the Belfast event. "I don’t believe Lewis is a world-class fighter.
"I think he’s a top-level, British-level fighter but not a world class fighter. There’s levels, and I’m a lot better than Lewis."
Donovan explained that his rise through the welterweight ranks was quicker than his opponent's, labelling Crocker a "journeyman" who has had to resort to facing lesser opposition in order to pad his record.
"I’ve had ten fights and I’m in the top ten in the world," Donovan said. "It took him 20 fights.
"In his 16th fight he fought a guy with 40 losses on his record, and you’re telling me he's a better fighter than me? That’s right, journeyman."
