The boxing legend offers "Tank" high praises.

Boxing's lightweight division is loaded with skills and talent ranging from Gervonta "Tank" Davis to Shakur Stevenson, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.

But when it comes to its four younger fighters in Davis, Stevenson, Haney and Garcia, a boxing legend isn't hesitating to shower one with the most praise — "Tank."

“One of the best ones out there… he’s really one of the pound-for-pound best ones out of the coop," Jones began explaining about Davis, the WBA lightweight world champion, while speaking with Stephen Jackson on All the Smoke Fight

"He can punch but he also can box. Some that can punch, can’t box. He can box, he can punch, he can move laterally, he can do it left side, right side.

"He can do whatever he needs to do as a southpaw to get the job done and that's saying a lot because not many guys can do that today."

As the conversation continued, Jones particularly highlighted how Davis has become an expert at setting opponents up for a knockout punch as 28 of the Baltimore, Maryland fighter's 30 wins have come by the way of knockout.

"He shows discipline… discipline enough to [know] he got enough shock on his punch but he knows how to set the punch up before he does it," Jones said of Davis' technique.

"That's a real chess player in the boxing ring," he added. "That's the most deadly kind of guy in the world besides a Mike Tyson-type guy in boxing — a guy that can play chess in that boxing ring is a killer and that's what 'Tank' can do.

"[Davis] and Terence Crawford are two of the best right now because of their setup game."
