Ryan Garcia is shocked by the comebacks of Oscar De La Hoya and Mike Tyson, with the two having been long retired.
The 54-year old Mike Tyson will take on 51-year-old Roy Jones Jr. in November this year, and De La Hoya, 47, is set to get back in the ring as well, though he has no confirmed opponent.
Garcia is a client of De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, and gave his boss his blessing.
"Aw man, Oscar, shoot. Let him do whatever he wants!" he told TMZ.
"If Mike did it, why not?"
Given the former champions’ advanced years, Garcia still could not quite credit what they are attempting to pull off with returns to boxing, though Tyson’s match-up is scheduled as an exhibition match rather than a professional bout.
Garcia exclaimed: "They're nuts, that's what I'm saying. They're nuts! I can't believe it."
The 22-year-old Garcia is set to fight Luke Campbell later this year.
