Ryan Garcia names the area of Floyd Mayweather's skillset that he wants to learn

Ryan Garcia has been spending time with the former pound-for-pound star.

Ryan Garcia’s next fight is still unconfirmed, but it looks like the super-lightweight contender will enlist the services of Floyd Mayweather to help with his defence.

Garcia endured a mixed 2023 as he lost his unbeaten record to Gervonta Davis in one of the year’s biggest fights before returning to stop Oscar Duarte in December.

With his name constantly linked to huge battles against the likes of Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez, Garcia is no stranger to attracting mainstream interest.

In recent months, the Californian has been spending some time with Mayweather, and although he’s currently being trained by Derrick James in Texas, Garcia admits that there’s one skill of Mayweather he’d like to learn.

“He [James] didn’t like that, but that’s the one thing that we laugh about,” said Garcia on the PBD Podcast when discussing Mayweather’s shoulder roll.

‘Cuz, I show him the shoulder roll and he starts laughing. It’s not bad, but it’s not great yet. But I’mma have Floyd train me on doing it. He told me was going to train me on how to do the shoulder roll.”

“Anyway, Floyd told me, ‘You have my word I’mma teach you it more.’”
