Ryan Garcia has insisted that undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez needs to face David Benavidez in his next fight.
The Mexican is expected to return to the ring in May, but there is still no official announcement as to who will be in the opposite corner.
A number of names have been mentioned, but one fighter fans are desperate to see Alvarez face is Benavidez.
“He has to fight Benavidez to keep boxing going,” Garcia said during an appearance on The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 FM.
“I think he has to.
“Who wants to live in the past? This [is] now. This is the biggest fight to make… You’re Canelo, the face of boxing. Why aren’t you doing it?”
Garcia then made a prediction for this particular contest.
“Canelo, unless he waits too long,” Garcia continued.
“It is not going to be easy, and Canelo will get touched up, but I think his experience [will win him the fight].”
Garcia's comments were made during a media tour ahead of his meeting with WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney on April 20, which will be broadcast live on DAZN.
