Sebastian Fundora looks ahead to potential fight with undisputed 154lb champion Jermell CharloDAZN

The first world championship fight is a milestone in the career of any boxer and Sebastian Fundora knows that his moment is imminent.

However, he may have to wait a little while longer because Jermell Charlo is the undisputed champion at light middleweight

Since July 2021, Charlo has held the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF belts and has so far made one defense against Argentina's Brian Castaño.

"I feel no pressure knowing that I will have to face Charlo, he is a champion like the others. Although all four belts will be on the line, I'm only interested in the WBC belt," Fundora told DAZN in a teleconference at the WBC Coffee Tuesday in Mexico City.

"I have worked very hard facing good fighters and I know that when the time comes I will be ready. I expect a very strong and action-packed fight, also a knockout."

In his latest outing over the weekend, Fundora defeated Mexico's Carlos Ocampo by unanimous decision in the first defence of his WBC interim light middleweight title

Now, as one of Charlo's main challengers, Fundora knows his opportunity is near and believes it may come in the spring of 2023.

"Everything has been progressing little by little, I have been growing in competition and experience and I feel that the time has come. I know I can do it, I am confident in what I am," he concluded.
