Former champion Israil Madrimov was meant to be fighting in this bout, but was forced to pull out two weeks before the fight due to acute bronchitis. Instead he will now prepare for this fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr. on February 22.

Bohachuk vs. Davis fight history
August was not a good month for Bohachuk, dropping the interim WBC light middleweight title to Vergil Ortiz Jr. in a decision defeat.
That was just Bohachuk's second career defeat, having won his previous six fights.
