Shakur Stevenson wants an answer from William Zepeda.
After seeing WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman post on social media about the sanctioning body ordering Stevenson to defend his championship against William Zepeda, the WBC lightweight titleholder took to his own X account Monday and put the timer on Zepeda with a question.
And when Oscar De La Hoya, Zepeda's promoter at Golden Boy, suggested that the undefeated Zepeda has his pick of any of the four lightweight world champs to choose from for his next fight, Stevenson responded with pure laughter.
This comes days after Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) cast serious doubt over Zepeda (31-0, 27 KOs) fighting him.
"I think they’re banking on another fight where they can win a belt — [WBO titleholder Denys] Berinchyk," Stevenson told Cigar Talk's YouTube channel last week. "They don’t want this belt. They don't want the WBC belt."
