Shawn Porter is in confident mood heading into his eagerly anticipated clash with Terence Crawford later this month. The welterweight pair, both occupying lofty positions at 147lbs, meet on November 27th in what is arguably the toughest test of each man’s career.
Crawford’s rise to WBO champion at welterweight has been impressive but his run in his latest weight class is missing some top names. That can change with victory against Porter. The Ohio fighter has been operating at the business end of the division for the best part of a decade and he believes he’s the man to stop Crawford’s incredible momentum.
“He’ll have his mind where it needs to be when the fight starts, but I expect to make it as easy as can be,” said Porter when speaking to FightHub. “Simply put, Terence has met his match. It’s not up to me to say things to convince anybody of that.
“The closer we get, I feel it every day. I haven’t been this excited about a fight in a long time. My fight with Errol Spence Jr, I got excited the week of. This one, I’ve been excited since the WBO made that tweet, so it’s coming.”
