Ak and Barak considered whether Amanda Serrano should aim to become undisputed at featherweight or if she should take on Katie Taylor.
Taylor is an undisputed lightweight champion while Serrano holds the WBC and WBO straps at 126lbs.
Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes told the DAZN Boxing Show he thinks that Serrano will have to wait for a fight with the 35-year-old Irish champion.
“Katie Taylor, I understand this,” he said.
“Amanda Serrano wants to unify her division. She's proven enough in a sport, seven-division world champion. She is one of the most popular and she's in her 30s right now. She has nothing further to prove.
“I don't think going to win an undisputed crowd which she will be expected to win. She'll be a heavy favorite to win. I don't think it's gonna make the fight more popular.
“I think right now Amanda should be getting ready to wait on Katie Taylor when this fight happens - early next year.”
Barak Bess understands that there may be a limited amount of time to make a Taylor fight, but Serrano wants to become undisputed in her own current division.
“No one really says Katie Taylor is 35, probably going on 36, when is father time going to knock on her door? Who knows? All she does is eat sleep boxing.
“I think I like her personal goal. Her personal goal is to become undisputed at 126 pounds because other people who are higher than her on the pound for pound list. She wants to do something that she's never done before. And that's become undisputed, and I liked that goal. So her next fighter should be Erica Cruz, so she can get that WBA strap if she's able to beat her, and one strap closer to undisputed featherweight.”
