Teddy Atlas was very complimentary towards a current active fighter.

Legendary trainer Teddy Atlas believes the newly crowned WBC and WBO world super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue is someone who would have enjoyed success in any era.

Inoue cemented his place amongst the world's best pound-for-pound fighters this past Tuesday when he stopped Stephen Fulton to become a four-weight world champion and this victory has seen him leap to the top of numerous pound-for-pound rankings, including DAZN's!

This could all change however following the conclusion of Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford on Saturday night, but this has not stopped Atlas from heaping praise on Inoue's ability.

“I have always favored the 1930s-1960s, 1970s-1980s, as boxing’s best. But Inoue would have fit with the greatest of any era," Atlas wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter)

"He’s the full package, which consists of: speed, power, smarts, technique, brains, instinct, timing, and controlled ferocity. Simply special.”
