The unified lightweight could challenge the undisputed champion at 140lbs, he told the DAZN Boxing Show.

Teofimo Lopez is ready to move up to super lightweight to challenge Josh Taylor.

Taylor is the undisputed champion at 140lbs, a title that Lopez not unreasonably — but perhaps not entirely accurately — claims for himself as a lightweight with belts from all major governing bodies.

The 24-year-old American fighter defeated Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2020 and is set to fight George Kambosos Jr. in a mandatory defence on October 16, but has previously suggested he will move up the weights in order to make high-profile fights. Taylor is one potential opponent who has been mentioned consistently in recent  months.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, Lopez said: “Josh Taylor 140 undisputed... at the end of the day we all need each other

“I'm not gonna say that one needs more than the other, and I'm not gonna say there is an A side and B side to it. The boxing fans are what everybody needs, just the combat fans in general they need this fight. They need super fights, man.

“Look at Gervonta Davis, they tried to build that fight with Lomachenko since 2016 and they denied it so many f—ing times. I called him out for two years and I made it happen.

“You can come and see me any time and and we can make it happen at any time. That goes for Devin Haney as well. You throw a contract at me and then we could talk. But till then, I'm out there and I'm making fights happen to them. I'm a big fish, I'm the koi fish. And these guys they all f—ing bass fish?”
