Teofimo Lopez responds to Oscar De La Hoya's claim about potential Ryan Garcia fight

Teofimo Lopez responds to Oscar De La Hoya's claim about potential Ryan Garcia fightDAZN

Teofimo Lopez doesn’t appear confident that a fight with Ryan Garcia can happen next. The former lightweight ruler, the man who shocked Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2020, returns to the ring against Pedro Campa this weekend.

Last November, Lopez was defeated by George Kambosos Jr, but his name is still attracting the interest of some of the sport’s biggest names.

After watching Vergil Ortiz destroy Michael McKinson with a selection of body shots last Saturday night, Oscar De La Hoya, Garcia’s promoter, claimed that he would be at Lopez’ fight when asked about a fight between his man and Gervonta Davis.

Despite this stern declaration, Lopez is not banking on facing Garcia anytime soon.

“I’m not gonna talk too much about it because I got to see it first to believe it,” said Lopez when speaking to The DAZN Boxing Show regarding De La Hoya’s intentions.

“I’ve got to see paperwork, I’ve got to see contracts. I want every fight. My main goal is to become two time undisputed. My goal is become the man at each weight class.”

Teofimo Lopez discusses a variety of subjects on the latest episode of The DAZN Boxing Show.
