Terence Crawford is gearing up to face Israil Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles but took the time out from promoting his own fight to talking about Jake Paul, and he really had some good things to say.
While appearing on The MMA Hour on Monday, Crawford was asked if he thought Paul could win the cruiserweight title within two years, something Paul predicted for himself.
"It's possible," he said. "A lot of people write Jake off. But Jake can punch with that right hand. He's got a nice right hand. I gained a lot of respect for Jake because he's not a YouTuber that's just boxing just to box. He actually trains and actually wants to get better. And he actually got better and really putting his time and focus and energy into boxing. So you got to respect that."
Paul is coming off a win over Mike Perry, a former UFC fighter turned BKFC champion. He'll be fighting Mike Tyson in October.
