It is safe to say unified welterweight champion Terence Crawford has one of the best resumes in boxing.
A world champion in three weight classes, and undisputed status in the super lightweight and welterweight divisions, there would be little surprise if the Omaha fighter enjoyed his success and rode into the sunset.
However, that is not the mentality of someone as driven as Crawford who is continuing to cement himself as a pound-for-pound great, and his next fight proves that when he faces WBA light middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 live on DAZN.
If Crawford gets past Madrimov and wins a world title in a fourth weight class, then a number of big fights will present themselves.
One of those could be a move back to welterweight to face the exciting IBF champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis, but Crawford was quick to dismiss this particular contest and instead explained why a clash with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is more appealing.
"I’m looking at the fight which makes the most sense and that is not “Boots”," Crawford said on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour.
"Canelo is going to add way more to my legacy, way more to my bank account.
"I want to have a legacy that is something people talk about for the ages, and not only that, I want to have a bank account that will last for ages as well."
