Terence Crawford was vocal on social media in the aftermath of Yordenis Ugas’ impressive win over Manny Pacquiao. A key figure at the business end of the welterweight division, Crawford has repeatedly been linked to fights with Pacquiao and Errol Spence.
With Ugas now likely to be identified as one of the leading fighters, the financial clout once carried by Pacquiao is set to dwindle. Spence, who was set for a monster payday against the Filipino legend until suffering an eye injury, has effectively seen a valuable dance partner disappear. Crawford now believes he’s the best option for the recovering Texan.
“Looks like Errol Spence gone need me after all tho,” wrote Crawford on his Twitter account. “I know you really mad about that fight last night because I was but not in a hating way but in a missed opportunity way. Don't beat yourself up about it get well champ.”
Perhaps suggesting his biggest payday is potentially against Canelo Alvarez, Crawford later tweeted, “Don’t trip everyone I’m moving up to 168 I can’t do this no more..” The Nebraskan fighter closed his outburst by wishing his followers the best for the rest of the day.
