Welterweight champion Terence Crawford said he predicted Josh Taylor would win his clash with Jose Ramirez, with a potential fight between the two champions now on the cards.
Crawford’s Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has recently spoken of his disappointment in how well, or otherwise, the WBO champion sells his fights, but a clash with Taylor might be a money-spinner.
Taylor has talked previously about getting Crawford over to Edinburgh for a huge title fight, and now that the 30-year-old Scot is the undisputed champion at 140lbs, a move up the weight would be a logical next step.
However, another option might be if Teofimo Lopez elects to join him at his current weight, with Lopez in possession of belts from every major governing body in boxing, if not quite the undisputed champion himself.
Taylor emerged victorious after a unanimous win over the American Ramirez and sent him to the canvas in successive rounds.
Taking to Twitter after the fight, Crawford claimed he predicted the win, saying: “Oooowwweee told em Josh was going to win I felt it.”
It is now up to Crawford, Taylor and Arum to see if a fight can be made.
