The Matchroom Boxing promoter calls it the biggest bout in the history of the sport.

Anthony Joshua looks to become a three-time heavyweight world champion September 21, live on DAZN, when he challenges IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois.

In speaking with iFL TV recently, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn acknowledged that while AJ is the favorite in the fight that Dubois is a very "live" underdog with punching prowess of his own.

That said, there's one fight out there that continues to evade Joshua that must happen, according to Hearn.

"We'll always kick ourselves if we don't make [Tyson] Fury v. AJ," Hearn said. "I think there's no doubt that if Riyadh [Season] was around, His Excellency was around two years ago, AJ-Fury would've happened — no doubt. It hasn't and now we have two mega fights coming up."

The first is of course Joshua challenging Dubois on September 21. The second mega fight that Hearn is referring to is the Oleksandr Usyk-Fury rematch exactly three months later. Hearn weighed all the scenarios regardless of how each bout goes.

"If both of those guys win that fight, you've got the biggest fight in the history of the sport by a f—ing mile," Hearn said. "If they don't win, you've got a mega fight.

"Can you imagine AJ wins the world heavyweight title, Fury loses? Fury can challenge AJ for the world heavyweight title.

"If Fury wins and AJ loses, AJ can challenge for the unified world heavyweight title. And if AJ wins and Fury wins, those two can fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title.

"And if they both lose, they can fight for bragging rights forever. So it's massive."

Hearn added that given the emergence of Turki Alalshikh and his aggressive approach to getting fights made that wishful thinking on the Joshua-Fury fight is it "would happen next year."
