'The world's at his feet' - Eddie Hearn outlines 'endless' options for Conor Benn after doping suspension lifted

'The world's at his feet' - Eddie Hearn outlines 'endless' options for Conor Benn after doping suspension liftedMatchroom Boxing

Conor Benn is ready to get back into the ring after being cleared of any wrongdoing following an adverse finding in a drug test two years ago, and Eddie Hearn says the 28-year-old has the "world" at his feet.

Benn was suspended by the UK Anti-Doping Agency in March 2023 after findings from the previous year forced the cancellation of his scheduled fight against Chris Eubank Jr. The National Anti-Doping Panel lifted his suspension four months later, allowing Benn to fight Rodolfo Orozco and Peter Dobson in September 2023 and May 2024 respectively, and on Wednesday the NADP fully cleared him of any wrong doing.

With his name cleared, Benn and Hearn can now get to planning the fighter's future, and the Matchroom Boxing boss believes there are a wealth of options open to the undefeated welterweight star.

"I mean, so many options," Hearn said on Thursday at the pre-fight press conference for the "Two Kings" card featuring Jaron "Boots" Ennis and Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez, which can be seen live on DAZN on Saturday.

"You know, he's probably one of the most talked about fighters in the world and has been for two years, even with just a couple of warm up fights. Yesterday, [he] got fully cleared by the NADP. He'll be here in Philly, of course, to watch the great Boots Ennis as well. The options are endless."

Hearn detailed the options available to Benn, which includes a potential world title fight at welterweight and a possible showdown against IBO middleweight champion Eubank.

"You know, he could take a straight shot at the world welterweight championship," Hearn said. "He could have a top-15 fight. The Chris Eubank fight is probably the biggest fight in British boxing right now. So the world's at his feet.

"It's been a treacherous two years, but looking forward to seeing Conor back in the ring [in] early 2025."
