KSI suffered a controversial defeat in the ring on Saturday night in Manchester, and he said he would appeal the result after Tommy Fury emerged victorious.
While his chances of overturning the result seem limited, given the success of the event otherwise it is hard to see past a rematch between the pair for the YouTuber’s next fight.
Nonetheless, with Fury claiming he was done with the histrionics of crossover boxing - if not crossover boxing itself - KSI might have to look elsewhere for his next fight.
We look at three potential opponents for KSI’s return.
Tommy Fury
Fury might count himself fortunate to come away with a victory against KSI after he was docked a point early on and might have suffered the same fate more than once with a stricter referee.
Nonetheless, after beating KSI and Jake Paul in his last two fights, he has yet to truly convince as a pro boxer and he might want to run it back with KSI to prove that he is levels above that standard of competition.
Jake Paul
It feels inevitable that the two leading lights of crossover boxing will meet in the ring, especially given their rivalry outside the ring.
Some of that might be for effect, but if they agreed to meet for a showdown in the squared circle, any antipathy would likely soon become genuine.
As well as that, both would surely be keen on the profile and revenue that would come with such a clash.
Conor McGregor
McGregor might be one of the true professional combat sport stars who can be even more of a troll than the crossover celebrity fighters.
McGregor has shown against Floyd Mayweather that he is limited but durable when it comes to boxing, and as his career starts to tread water in MMA, he might be open to making the switch to a more relaxed and more lucrative pursuit against KSI.
