Three possible opponents for Vergil Ortiz Jr. after defeating Serhii Bohachuk

Three possible opponents for Vergil Ortiz Jr. after defeating Serhii BohachukDAZN
The new WBC interim super welterweight world champion now has plenty of options.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. went the distance for the first time in his career on Saturday night.

Despite being dropped twice, the 26-year-old sensation managed to produce a majority decision over Serhii Bohachuk to become the new WBC interim super welterweight world champion in Las Vegas, and live on DAZN.

With the victory, the undefeated Ortiz (22-0, 21 knockouts) had his KO streak snapped but still has plenty of options following the biggest and toughest win of his career.

Here, DAZN takes a look at possible next opponents for Ortiz.

Terence Crawford

Before Ortiz could even produce the win over Bohachuk, Turki Alalshikh appeared on DAZN and mentioned how he'd like to make a Terence Crawford vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr. fight, especially since plans for a Canelo Alvarez vs. Crawford mega bout didn't pan out.

His Excellency added that he's willing to "give Crawford big offer to do this."

After having his hand raised in victory, Ortiz co-signed the idea, telling DAZN: "Let's do it, man. I'm ready for a challenge. I think 'Bud' is probably pound-for-pound No. 1 in the world and I want to show that I got what it takes to beat him."

Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) became the new WBA super welterweight world champion last weekend and turns 37-years-old next month.

That said, in appearing on Shawn Porter's "The PorterWay Podcast" last week, "Bud" revealed out of Sebastian Fundora, Ortiz and Jermell Charlo, he would choose Fundora if he had to pick a next opponent at 154 pounds.

Can the money Alalshikh offers him change his mind?

Winner of potential Sebastian Fundora vs. Errol Spence Jr. fight

WBC super welterweight world titleholder Sebastian Fundora and former unified 147-pound champ Errol Spence Jr. were linked for a fight, though nothing has been officially announced as of press time.

After defeating Bohachuk in a "Fight of the Year" candidate and sharing his interest in challenging Crawford, Ortiz also mentioned Fundora-Spence.

"Now we got to fight the winner of Fundora and Spence," Ortiz said on DAZN. "That's what we're after right now."

Facing that winner or simply Fundora — if his proposed Spence fight doesn't happen — makes sense considering Ortiz is the interim WBC titleholder at 154 pounds.

Tim Tszyu

Tim Tszyu and Ortiz entertained fighting each other before.

After witnessing Ortiz defeat Bohachuk, Tszyu told Fight Hub TV that he's still willing to face the undefeated star in what could be another "Fight of the Year" candidate like Ortiz-Bohachuk delivered.
