Tim Bradley backs Canelo Alvarez to impress late on against Dmitry Bivol

Tim Bradley backs Canelo Alvarez to impress late on against Dmitry BivolDAZN
Canelo Alvarez faces Dmitry Bivol this weekend and Tim Bradley has had his say.

Canelo Alvarez will rally late to stop Dmitry Bivol. That’s the opinion of former world champion, Tim Bradley, as he weighs up what will occur when the Mexican great challenges for Bivol’s WBA light-heavyweight crown, exclusively live on DAZN

Canelo enters the fights a significant favourite due to his excellent form in recent encounters when unifying the entire division at 168lbs. Bivol represents a formidable test and he’s arguably Canelo’s toughest assignment since he took on Gennadiy Golovkin in their 2018 rematch. Despite Bivol possessing many qualities, Bradley believes Canelo will be the man who gets his hand raised.

"This fight will be relatively easy for Bivol initially, as he will get off to an early lead because of his activity,” said Bradley when speaking to ESPN. “The fourth round will be a turning point as Alvarez will find a way past the jab of Bivol and begin to land hellacious counters to his body. This will be Alvarez's second phase of his breakdown, as the first phase is his steady pressure and presence.

"Bivol has a chance, but it will be his choice to dig deep. However, Alvarez has brute force and domination inside the ring. His ego is guarded with a shield of invincibility. Respect and adding to his legacy is what he is after, by any means necessary. Alvarez will be forced to go to greater heights, but he will take the win by stoppage. TKO victory for Alvarez in Round 10 or 11."
