She becomes Britain's second female boxing gold medalist.

Welsh middleweight Lauren Price added another gold medal to Team GB's impressive overall Olympic haul at Tokyo 2020 when she defeated Li Qian of China 5-0 on the judges' scorecards to take Britain to 22 total golds in Japan.

The gold collection matches Team GB's efforts on home soil nine years ago at London 2012, and Price's emphatic performance will go down as one of the more memorable of the lot as she became the second female fighter after Nicola Adams to win an Olympic boxing tournament for Britain.

Price took control from the offset and pitched a shut-out performance over three rounds in the eyes of four of the five judges, with one ringside scorer ruling her as winning by two rounds to one.

"I can't really put it into words, it's a dream come true," an emotional Price told BBC Sport.

"I still have to pinch myself. It's been years of hard work and if you dream and work hard enough you can achieve anything.

"I'm just over the moon and I want to thank everyone who supported me on this journey from eight years old."

She dedicated the win to her grandfather Derek, who passed away in November, as well as her grandmother Linda.

"It's for him and my nan - I knew he would be looking down on me today and all week really," continued Price.

"I can't really put into words what they've done for me over the years, I just love them both so much.

"Big shout out to my nan, I can't wait to see her and show my medal off."
